John Coll was the trainer for the United States of America's first ever team that entered the first ever world cup in Uruguay. This is his personal book, it contains well laid out newspaper cuttings from Uruguay, menus and shipping lists which shows the American team travelled in style and first class to the games. It contains rare memos sent to the USA on the world cup and a genuine letterhead from the organisers of the World Cup in Uruguay as well as some stamps from the period. It contains hotel information and also more about his career to include informaton and letterheads on early American soccer clubs to include Brooklyn Wanderers and photos of 2 players Rollo and Stark, St Mary's Celtic FC, and a signed boxing photo. Letters from the United States Football Association are also inside this one off item.
There is also rare memorabilia to include Charlton Athletic's visit to the USA and a very rare match ticket/dressing room pass for their game played on the 27th June 1937 v USFA Select X1 with all American players listed - there is also an enamel badge which commemorates their tour of Canada and USA in 1937.
