1968 New York Generals v Los Angeles Wolves (Wolverhampton Wanderers) Official Programme

Rare programme from the match played on the 17th April 1968 between the New York Generals and Los Angeles Wolves (Wolverhampton Wanderers).  This was the first season of the North American Soccer League.

The 1968 season was the first following the merger of the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) and the United Soccer Association (USA) to become the North American Soccer League.

Wolves were essentially imported to play throughout the summer and they played under the banner of the Los Angeles Wolves, indeed Aberdeen also played the same way under the name of the Washington Whipps.  After one season the import strategy was stopped but it remains a very hard set to complete for Wolves fans and given the historic nature of these programmes being for the inaugural season of the league are keenly collected by American collectors.
